One of the rudest things that you can do when sending your resume to prospective companies, is to not attach a cover letter to it. The cover letter is a form of self-introduction, and sending a plain resume is like a figurative slap in the face. A well worded and well thought-out cover letter can give you plus points with the HR personnel assessing your application. Be sure that your letter is straight to the point. You should “sound” confident and make clear your strong drive and motivation. Add here your references to prove your credibility. Most importantly, don’t forget to let the best of your personality shine through.

If you are tired of your usual work and are aiming for the higher paying and responsibility jobs, why not consider taking up further studies or training in the form of Masteral degrees? Many have seen them as a waste of time but it is really the refresher and the contacts you can get there that is important.

Many of us hate studying but in this case, it is about honing skills that we have been exposed to. It helps us mature and with the right dedication, we may soon see ourselves leading sections of a company. Not a bad outlook in your company if you try.

Redundant But Reasonable Jobs

We often complain that our current jobs seems to be like a broker record. Our duties are similar and apparently there is no career enhancements in sight. But while we consider this as a career setback, do remember you are lucky to have a job. While you want to quit, you just cannot. The risk is simply high as far as landing another job these days.

The best way is to wait. New jobs will come your way and you just have to wait for it. But as far as current economic situations are concerned, it would be best to be satisfied with what you have right now. It is better than having nothing at all to rely on.

Are You Satisfied with your Compensation?

No longer can you command the high pays these days. It seems we are at the mercy of most companies and we cannot do anything about it at this time. While we need better pay structures, it just remains that companies are only willing to pay a certain amount.

You can no longer compare salaries with other companies. Management teams are getting wiser and with the abundant number of people looking for work, it seems everything is working against us these days.

So what is an employee to do? Well rather than pout about it, it would be best to see what other things we can do to add to our income. A secondary job may sound nice doesn’t it?

As far as earning a living is concerned, you surely have to look for multiple means of getting paid. One job is not sufficient today and apparently people are taking on multiple jobs today.

The problem here lies in time management. Day jobs will always be there but working on the side may take its toll on us. We are not machines. We need the proper rest and management to make everything fit accordingly. So if you are good in organizing your time, then it would be best to make sure that you can handle multiple jobs at once.
