Success 101: Self-Promotion
Who wants to be successful? We all do. Success has long been a measure of a person’s strength and greatness. When you say a person is successful, it means he has already proven his worth either through accomplishments, accumulating wealth or contributing immensely to a good cause.
In the work place, success is mostly measured by accomplishments. When you get a project done, when your output is above average or when you excel on a presentation, that is when you get noticed and your success measured. But how can a worker’s accomplishment get surely noticed?
The answer is self-promotion. It’s far different from bragging. It’s anchored on reason and your faith in yourself. Remember that even the littlest of accomplishments is important. Thus, remember to update your immediate head or supervisor via email or personal whenever a project has been done nicely or a target has been surpassed. Learn also to appreciate your fellow workers’ achievements to balance your self-promotion.
